ArtVenture: Weaving - 2023

Collaborative event funded by an Indiana Arts Commission On-Ramp Grant, and done in partnership with the Swope Art Museum, Vigo County Public Library, White Violet Center for Eco-Justice, Community School of the Arts and the Montessori Academy of Terre Haute.

Participants were invited to drop in for a free fiber arts event in August of 2023. Guests could come have hands-on (guided) experiences using different fiber arts equipment such as drum carders, spinning wheels, and various looms. There was an hourly story time with fiber arts related books such as “Woolbur”; and a make-and-take mini loom station as well as a collaborative weaving project. The event garnered 111 visitors of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life!
